We've made quite a few friends over the years we have been together,
so here we have some links to web sites belonging to our chums.
| Northgate
United Reformed Church |
Although we are not a church-organised group, Northgate is our
spiritual and physical home. We met each other when we played together
in the Northgate Orchestra, and we are grateful to the church for
allowing us to rehearse there. |
| Darlington Gaelic Society |
On the occasions when we have organised our own fund-raising
nights, our very good friends Maranny and Pat from the Gaelic Society
have generously provided buffets for us. |
| Grange Road Baptist Church |
This, so far, is the only place to book us twice! What more can
we say, other than "Thanks, guys!" |
| George
Gladstone |
George sells, services and repairs woodwind and brass instruments.
Clive buys his reeds there. |
| The
Quaker |
Karen and Andy's "local", sells an excellent range
of beers, and is currently Darlington CAMRA's Town Pub of the Year.
We have been heard to rehearse in the upstairs room. |
| Communigate |
Home of our first web pages. Communigate provides free build-it-yourself
web space for non-profit or community groups. |
| The
D & N |
The Durham & Newcastle Diocesan Association of Church Bell
Ringers. Yes, I know it's a long title. This society celebrated
its 125th Anniversary in 2002, and we played for them on a cruise
on the Shields Ferry. It was an interesting evening, sailing from
South Shields up the Tyne to the "Blinking Bridge" and back. Luckily,
the waters were fairly calm (except when we had 11-year-old Tim
at the helm). |
| The
Shields Ferry |
This vessel usually floats between North and South Shields carrying
foot passengers. However, it is available to book during the evenings
to take you up and down the Tyne. |
 |
If you're a fan of Chicago Blues, you'll love these guys. They run a monthly blues jam session up in Blackhill, and it's well worth the trip to see the band in action. They are also available for bookings, see their website for details. |
