The Band
The Haraoke Band - at work

This is us, pictured at the now closed Newbus Arms Hotel near Darlington. We do Jazz, Blues, Variety, Singalong, Dances and Games. If you feel inclined, you can come and join us on stage to sing your favourite song.

Clive

Clive - Tenor Sax, Clarinet, sundry percussion!

Clive is our saxophonist and front man and claims to have been playing since he was in short pants. In the band he usually plays a 1963 Selmer Mk VI Tenor Sax, the Lawton 'long window' bell bronze custom mouthpiece and La Voz medium reeds. Sometimes he will also play Alto Sax and Tenor Sax, from the ever improving Jupiter Instrument Co and a sixties Boosey and Hawkes Regent Clarinet, which has more sentimental value than worth. Clive has a great love of Jazz and looks forward to playing our ever increasing repertoire of Jazz and Blues.

Dot

Dot - Vocals

Dot has recently joined us on vocals and tambourine.  She uses 60s vintage vocal chords and an un-marked tambourine.  Dot is a hearing specialist, and can lip read - so don't go saying things you think she can't hear.

Karen

Karen - Bass Guitar

Karen, our bass player has been playing bass guitar since the late 70's, and double bass for over 25 years. In the band, she plays a 1983 Squier JV Series Precision bass and a 2002 Yamaha Fretless, and uses a Trace Elliott bass combo or Torque head and 4x4 cab. In real life, although having trained as a Bass player, Karen now works in the IT field.

Jock the Lad

Harry M - demon Keyboard player

Harry has played more gigs than the rest of us have had hot dinners! Away from the band, he's a wizard salesman, so if you sit still too long at a Haraoke gig, you might find yourself sold - and not just on our music...

Harry B

Harry B - Drums, backing vocals, party games

Harry has years of experience as a drummer, having taught himself to play at an early age. Until recently Harry has been playing a Del Roy antique kit, but he has recently upgraded to a Flatts kit by Arbiter.  He has now retired from full-time employment as he couldn't find enough spare time to go to work, but keeps his lifetime's accounting skills honed to perfection cooking the Haraoke books.

Andy - DJ and Roadie

Andy is our muscle man - the guy who unloads all our kit and sets it up, only to take it all down again later. Andy is also the front man for the Stag Roadshow, the disco that fills in while we're having a break.
